of Santa Cruz County's Youth Mentoring Programs
From the 2010 BFKS, April 24th & 25th:
Bowl For Kids' Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters' largest annual fundraising event. It is a fun way to raise money and make a difference in a child's life. It doesn't cost you to bowl or rent shoes, you ask people to sponsor you.
The 2010 Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraising campaign starts in March when you form your team and start collecting pledges. It culminates with the bowling event on Saturday, April 24at the Boardwalk Bowl in Santa Cruz, and Sunday, April 25at Cabrillo Lanes in Watsonville.
You! your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors… anyone and everyone.
Add to the fun by challenging others to friendly fundraising competitions!

It's easy. Join a pre-existing teamORbe a team captain and gather 4 friends, family members or colleagues to be your team members.
Register your team online then you will be able to set up a fundraising team website that you can email friends and family from for donations!
You can also use a paper pledge sheet that will be available in March to help raise funds. When you arrive at the event with your team, you hand in your sponsor contributions and pledges, and have fun bowling a free game! (You might even qualify for one of our fabulous prizes. Ask us how!)
What's new this year? New in 2010 is our fabulous drawing for teams that bring in a $1000.
These teams are called Matchmakers, as it takes a $1000 to make a match between a Big Brother/Sister and a Little Brother/Sister. This drawing will take place on Monday, April 26, and the winning team will be notified of their prize.
What is a Corporate Challenge? A fundraising challenge is issued to the business community. How to
respond to the challenge? Designate a company coordinator to serve as a Team Recruiter and watch the fun begin! Encourage interdepartmental challenges, or even challenge another business to a friendly fundraising competition.

What impact does Bowl For Kids’ Sake have
on my community? Revenues from BFKS make up over 1/3 of the operating budget for Big Brothers Big Sisters. All money raised goes directly to support a match between a caring, adult role model (“Big”) and a local child between 7 and 14 (“Little”).
National research has shown that the positive relationships between Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their Littles have a direct, measurable, and lasting impact on children’s lives.
What is Kintera? Kintera is a marketing infrastructure service provider offering advanced
Internet fundraising solutions to charitable organizations. BBBS has
contracted with Kintera to provide online support for the 2010 Bowl for Kids' Sake Campaign. Through the website you can register for the event, collect donations from family and friends and more.
Is my information secure with Kintera? Yes.Kintera has made every effort to protect your information. They use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet. They have also installed an encryption engine on our database server so that your data is securely stored.
Will Kintera put my name on various mailing lists? Kintera, Inc. collects and maintains only personal information that is voluntarily submitted to them. They will only share personally identifiable information with a third party if and when the individual submitting this information has permitted them to do so, or if required by law to do so. BBBS will also maintain a copy of your information.
